| Ms. Aurora Reyes Chavez has 30 years of experience in the development sector, empowering people, especially women, youth, and children, to realize their role in development. As the Executive Director of MALAYA KA, Inc., she leads programs that strengthen civil society organizations’ capacities to engage in participatory governance at the local, provincial, and regional levels. Through her leadership, MALAYA KA has been one of the Philippine government’s partners in pushing for bottom-up budgeting, data-driven development, Freedom of Information (FOI), and gender mainstreaming. Ms. Chavez sits on various local and regional development committees in the Bicol Region. At the national level, she has been part of the PH-OGP Steering Committee since 2017 and currently serves as the Officer-in-Charge of the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) Women Sectoral Council. She is the Chairperson of the Caucus of Development NGO Networks and the WAND Women’s Organization. |
